Mohindra Rupram advises clients on complex insurance coverage, claims handling, monitoring, corporate risk and litigation matters. He handles high risk and coverage matters, including D&I, E&O, CGL, pollution liability and multimedia liability policies. He also represents insurers on issues related to intellectual property, technology, media, data security and privacy breaches, including coverage, regulatory investigations, and consumer lawsuits.

He began his career at Sidley Austin in Los Angeles, where he represented companies and individuals in contractual disputes, regulatory investigations, labor and employment arbitrations, complex commercial and state enforcement actions, media and entertainment cases, and IP matters. In one case, Mohindra  was part of a team that obtained a confidential settlement in the tens of millions of dollars from a competitor video game company that had cloned a client’s console game to redistribute it as a smartphone app. In another matter, he represented an online university in a multiyear, state enforcement action brought under California’s Unfair Competition Law.

At his previous firm, Mohindra was part of a team that received the 2018 Immigrant Justice Award from the ACLU of Southern California for obtaining an injunction against the U.S. government’s attempt to revoke Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Nepal, and Sudan. In 2019, he was part of another team that received the 2019 Pro Bono Award from Public Counsel for obtaining an injunction requiring the U.S. government to provide mental health treatment for families unlawfully separated at the border. Prior to law school, Mohindra worked at Teach for America and Uncommon Schools as a middle school math teacher seeking to bridge the achievement gap between low-income students in Miami-Dade and Boston and their wealthier peers.
