Our associate, Tyler Thull, was sworn in as an out of state governor on the Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors at The Florida Bar Annual Convention in Boca Raton last week. She will serve as a representative of young lawyers barred in Florida and practicing outside of the state. We are so excited to see all she does during her time on the YLD board.
At the convention, Rosalyn Sia Baker-Barnes was sworn in as the President of the Florida Bar. She is the first black woman to hold the position, and there was not a dry eye in the room when she made her initial address to the General Assembly. You may read more about her inspiring remarks and her plans for her leadership of the Florida Bar in the comment below.
Arti Hirani was sworn in as the President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar. Her main initiative is something we are really excited about. She, with the help of the YLD Board of Governors, will organize a legal job fair to open the doors of opportunity wide for young lawyers across the state. Tyler will serve on the job fair committee, so if you are interested in participating in or sponsoring the job fair, please connect with her. You may read more about Arti and the job fair in the comments below as well.
The Florida Bar knows how to throw a good party! There was a New Orleans themed reception in honor of the outgoing president of the YLD, Ashlea Edwards. There was a fabulous dessert reception for the Florida appellate lawyers. And there was a Vegas themed 75th anniversary reception honoring the Florida Bar’s 75th year of existence. It was such a fun convention, and we are already excited to attend next year!
